Giuseppe Montesano - musikalischer Leiter beim Wiener Hofburg-Orchester
Giuseppe Montesano, Ma
Conductor and Artistic Director as of 2017
I see making music, like any other authentically experienced art form, as a sensual means of expression of the soul that favors curiosity, love, and honesty as food.

''How do you get mediocre? By turning today and tomorrow as the world wants you to, by not contradicting the world and only agreeing with the general opinion.'' (Vincent van Gogh)

Svetoslav Borisov - Dirigent beim Wiener Hofburg-Orchester
Svetoslav Borisov
Conductor
Conducting means for me to make music and to communicate. It is a privilege and a wonderful feeling to play the most colourful instrument of the world: the orchestra. When there is really good communication between the conductor and the orchestra, the energy can find a common direction and something great arises: magic touches the audience and casts a spell over them.

Robert Lehrbaumer - Dirigent beim Wiener Hofburg-Orchester
Prof. Robert Lehrbaumer
Conductor and Artistic Director, Altenburg
To travel the world as a Viennese musician is wonderful - because you can feel how much ''our'' Viennese music is loved everywhere. Being a Viennese musician in Vienna for local and foreign audiences always gives you the pleasant feeling of playing a ''home game''. So, no matter where you perform, it's a joy.
It is my passion to convey this pleasure as intensely and joyfully as possible to the audience.

Impulses from the diversity of musical traditions, the attempt to combine seemingly contradictory elements, and striving for the freedom of interpretation are the driving forces behind my musical work.

When I'm on stage I give everything. Giving what is within us, as performers makes us totally vulnerable and naked - but the feeling when I have touched the audience with my singing and expression is unlike anything else in the world.

For me, music and singing is a challenge. Artists are never close enough to perfection in what they are doing; there is always place for improvement and to come closer to music. And that is maybe the reason, why one should celebrate the evening – as well as audience and artists - if there is the feeling the performance was perfect.

Eugene Amesmann - Tenor beim Wiener Hofburg-Orchester

Music begins for me then where words end, it’s a kind of balm for the soul, or a firm foothold. Music has its own cosmos - very clear, honest, unadulterated, and it cannot be deceived. It reflects its own soul with all its force and strength... it underlines... it entertains... and has tasks and entitlements for every individual...

It's wonderful to have an artistic profession with no off season, which can be infinite in its emotions, and with which you can - like we do here - give something to people from countries that you passionately travel in yourself! Singing is a marvelous thing. One, it is physically and mentally demanding. Two, it gives me personally a feeling that I am doing something fulfilling right here and now. And finally, when the spark jumps over to the crowd, you really have the perfect moment.
